Sooo, Mark Gaius Peralta is the lucky guy I’m going to work with at the UP Main Library. These pictures are taken today, our second day at the Indexing section. Mark suddenly transformed into an encyclopedia vendor and so we were both wearing white sleeves and black pants. Luckily I stuck to my own fashion style and had brown boots instead of black leather shoes like Mark’s. I insisted on a selfie but Mark was too shy to be in my presence.
Also, they made us write on worksheets instead of continuing our work with the IPP online system. Honestly, I was pissed off because I think it’s a waste of time and resources to be writing on paper and not directly make entries electronically. They said it was for documentation. I say it’s a waste of effort. Whenever you make entries online with your account (I used Maam Cathy’s on our first day), you can see and track them inside the system too. Editing entries is easier. Directly encoding entries is easier. Finding and looking over at the new entries is more organized too, instead of manually flipping over pages and pages of worksheets slipped between pages of the periodicals.
Anyway, I think I was just irritable today, since I also ranted about not being given a pen to use for the worksheets. We have to use our own pens, unlike in the CCP Library where everything is provided. A writing pen, ruler, even a piece of cloth for wiping the dust off of books. I was too spoiled. Siiigh, poor library.
